Last year, the i-Free New Year’s Eve adventure had begun long before the traditional “fir tree and tangerines” routine. The customary trip out of town was preceded by a two-week sleuthing game.

Apart from the presents, we had a couple more nice surprises up our sleeve. We offered to teach them how to make candles using the decoupage technique, and how to make decorated picture-cards.

i-Free had its first New Year’s Party for kids in December. Before, we used to give our employees’ kids presents or tickets for public New Year’s events.

We held a “best office decoration” contest last Christmas Season. Everyone was encouraged to be as creative as one could be, decorating their office for the winter holidays.

And once again i-Free celebrated its birthday in style – no less so than its 10th the year before. It was themed like a high school prom. Despite the anticlimactic November sleet outside, we all felt like we had just finished our eleventh school year. :)

i-Free has seen all kinds of master classes, but nothing like this. The idea of a felt toy-making crash course came from employees themselves, who also found and recruited a professional toymaker.

This was the first time i-Free had its traditional Health Day out of Russia. At the beginning of August 2012, the entire i-Free team headed for Estonia on the Baltic Sea coast, and set up camp close to the seaside town of Parnu.

We came to the racetrack at the appointed time. We filled out some forms, where we agreed to the rules of conduct on the racetrack…

We went to Shuvalovka Village on a sunny and warm weekend in July (itself a rare stroke of luck last summer!). The ladies at the entrance tied some ribbons around everyone’s wrists, kids

i-Free has had its teams on the Urban Race, Europe’s biggest urban outdoor adventure, for several years straight. Finding directions on city streets while running, biking or rollerblading was perhaps the easy part, but our three teams were in for more: “flying fox” crossings, climbing down buildings, and other rope climbing daredevilry…
