i-Free goes live with a Channel One Voice Portal

The partnership between i-Free and Channel One goes back to 2004. Over the years, i-Free has served Channel One repeatedly as technical partner and provider, supporting interactive services for a variety of TV projects on Channel One, including an SMS lottery and live prize draw hosted by the creators of the film Ironic Twist. A Sequel, SMS voting for the show The Stars are Closer than You Think and numerous mobile promo services for the blockbusters Turkish Gambit, Night Watch, Day Watch and others.

i-Free’s most recent project for Channel One is the Voice Portal, a collaboration with PR agency Mandarin. Fans of the popular shows Fazenda, Trendy Verdict and Let’s Get Married! can call the portal from their mobile phones and leave a request to go on the show, get expert advice, share their own knowledge, say what they think about the show, or simply listen to voice greetings from the hosts of their favorite TV shows.

In this project, i-Free has relied on the support of Red Square, a producing company belonging to the same holding group as Mandarin. “This voice portal is a shortcut to direct dialoguing with the viewer, taking our relationship with the audience to a whole new level, where fans become active participants and our partners in the process of creating TV shows,” said Elena Rudaya, deputy director of sales at Red Square. “The portal has just been launched, but our viewers’ interest in the new resource is already overwhelming, and their desire to work together is through the roof. Our editors process hundreds of audience messages daily. Together with our partner i-Free, the leading content provider in Russia, we will soon make this resource even more interesting, richer in content and more useful to our viewers.”

To call the Channel One Voice Portal, users are to dial 0736 on their mobile phone and follow the voice menu to select the show they need: Fazenda, Trendy Verdict or Let’s Get Married! From then on, they can use any service available in the section they chose.

In the Fazenda section, fans can post a request to go on the show and/or invite a camera crew to their dacha. There is also a special part for video artists and designers, titled “If you want to design the show.” The section also features practical gardening tips people can listen to and share with their friends by sending them a voice card. They can also post their own gardening tips.

The mobile menu of Trendy Verdict also offers the option of posting a request to go on the show, as well as fashion tips and clothes shopping advice from the show’s hosts.

The fans of Let’s Get Married! are in line for more now on the Voice Portal: apart from leaving their request to go on the show, they can listen to some handy tips from a professional matchmaker, Rosa Siabitova, and astrologist Vasilisa Volodina. They can also record what they think about the show, its hosts and stars.

“A voice portal is a convenient mobile resource, especially for middle-aged and older viewers,” said Vladislav Kostiunin, who oversees interactive projects at i-Free. “We know Channel One viewers are going to love it. For our part, we will continue to develop it and fill it with new services catering to diverse audiences.”

The Channel One Voice Portal is on 24 hours a day in all parts of Russia covered by mobile telephony. A call to 0736 costs between RUR37.29 and 39.98 per minute with different providers (please add VAT).
