i-Free at Winter Nights: Mobile Games Conference

St. Petersburg, Russia, 18 February 2013. i-Free has contributed to Winter Nights, the international conference on mobile games development and marketing, as its Platinum Sponsor, co-hosting the after-party and running a lottery among the participants, where the prizes were game consoles and free attendance vouchers for the next Mobile VAS & Applications Conference.

The Winter Nights: Mobile Games Conference, held in St. Petersburg on 8 and 9 February, was attended by some 600 mobile game professionals and analysts from Russia and the rest of the world. Among the participants, there were creators of successful mobile games, market analysts, online media writers and editors.

Presentations were made at the conference on behalf of Supercell, Rovio, Wooga, Chillingo, Big Fish, FishLabs, Mail.Ru, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Odnoklassniki.ru, i-Free, InMobi, ChartBoost, PocketGamer, and other companies.

Winter Nights covered a broad gamut of issues: nuances of the mobile games industry in Russia and the world, new market trends, employment market, successful business models, ways to bring traffic into mobile games, and opportunities for app stores and social networks.

The February 8 roundtable “Challenge of Hiring in Mobile Gaming,” was attended by Head Hunter, Hooligans Entertainment, Ancor and Playrix. i-Free was represented by Kirill Petrov, Managing Director of i-Free Innovations. The roundtable participants discussed many aspects of the labor market in Russia and the rest of the CIS, and answered questions from the audience, which were mostly about how to enlist and retain top professionals in the company.

On the second day of the conference, Evgeny Kosolapov, CEO of i-Free Asia, made a presentation on the subject of “How to Promote Mobile Games in China.” He discussed the monetization matrixes that work in China, and explained how they are different from the matrixes used in Europe and the US.

The business part of the conference’s first day ended with a big party, hosted by the event organizer, Nevosoft, with the assistance of i-Free. The high point of the party was a lottery, in which the prizes were sponsored by i-Free: the Nintendo Wii U Premium Pack consoles went to Dmitry Filatov (Digi Group), Kirill Malyshev (Meridian Group) and Aleksander Khusainov (Destiny Development).

The winners also received free attendance vouchers for the Mobile VAS & Applications Conference, the biggest cellular communications and mobile apps forum in Eastern Europe, which will be held in St. Petersburg on 21 and 22 November 2013.
