The application period for Russian Mobile Awards’ 2013 has started

St. Petersburg, Russia, 26 September 2013. i-Free, the host of the 10th Mobile VAS & Apps Conference, has announced the beginning of application submissions for Russian Mobile Awards’2013, which will be part of the conference. The central purpose of the Awards is to map out directions and landmarks for business, and give a fresh impetus to the mobile industry overall.

Russian Mobile Awards (RMA) is a successor to Mobile VAS Awards, which had existed since 2008. The competition will admit the best mobile projects and products of the year, created in Russia or elsewhere in the CIS.

RMA’2013 will award prizes in six categories: Best Mobile Game, Best Non-game Application, Best Mobile Service, Best SMS Service, Best Mobile Service for Mobile or Offline Payments, and Best Startup.

Entries in each category will be judged by its own jury, comprised of experts in the particular field covered by the category. For a start, the jury will hold a secret ballot to select the top five projects in each category, which will then go on the shortlist. The projects on the shortlist will be posted on the conference website and published in the media on 11 November.

In another secret ballot, the jury members will then vote for a winner in each category. The winners will be named on 21 November at the awards gala – a magnificent stage show, which will crown the conference’s first day.

“RMA is the mobile industry’s Academy Awards, celebrating the best projects created in Russia and the CIS,” said Ekaterina Ivanova, head of i-Free Events and of the conference’s Organizing Committee. “We want the prizes to go to truly the greatest projects and products, which promise to set new trends in the marketplace. That is why we have made a few meaningful changes to the awards concept: we have brought the categories up to date, changes our principles of jury formation, invited a professional team to manage the award ceremony, and redesigned the look of the prize. We have done everything we could to make sure only the best of the best win, and to make the award show an unforgettable experience for our guests.”

Only projects implemented in Russia or the CIS any time between November 1st, 2012 and October 25th, 2013 will be admitted for Russian Mobile Awards. The only exception is the Startup of the Year category, which will admit projects existing as working prototypes.

RMA applications will be accepted if filed on or before 25 October 2013. Click here for application guidance or detailed participation terms of Russian Mobile Awards.
